The Covid Easter Egg
Personal work. During Easter 2019, when family and friends weren’t recommended to meet in person (because of the Covid pandemic), then I got an idea of how the Covid virus had captivated the Easter egg. To illustrate how Covid also ruined the Easter holidays, just like everything else during 2020.

Pen and paper sketching.
Using pen and paper is often the fastest way for me to visualize any ideas that may pop up in my head. I also enjoy sketching in ProCreate on my iPad, but pen and paper is still more fun. The blue ink sketch is the first very rough sketch I came up with for this little project. I then refined this sketch using some Micron fine-liners and Copic markers and this “final” version was used as my reference when starting to 3d model everything.
I’m not very comfortable using the 3D hair system in Cinema 4D, but in order to create the hair for this egg then I needed to play around with this for a while. There were a lot of brushing, combing and tweaking the hair properties and materials before I reached a look that I was happy with.
